Nick.
I take it you didn't depart last week on your planned cruise?

It seemed a bit pointless. Long wet bashes to windward in a F6 followed by gusty nights swinging at anchor as you try to get warm and dry is just so old hat.

Thinking of an Eberspacher . . . .

The rest of the season is likely to be day sails or two or three days snatched here and there. Have decided to embark on a systematic programme of island bagging.

Yesterday was great. Sunny and hot.
Today just warm and cloudy. A little windy too but dry.

I just recieved an e-mail on the topic of weather. It seems the Aussies are having a slightly different problem to us.....

AT 120 DEGREES IN AUSTRALIA , IT WAS SO HOT FOR A WEEK THAT KOALAS
WERE ASKING PEOPLE FOR WATER.
IT'S NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE.

ONE WENT TO A HOUSE TO TRY TO HIDE FROM THE HEAT AND TO
GET A BIT OF SHADE AND HERE IS WHAT HAPPENED WHEN
THE OWNER GAVE HIM SOMETHING TO DRINK. IT'S REALLY CUTE.

I caught the lovely Heather doing a bit to camera on the Beeb news yesterday claiming wettest and hottest, depending on where in the country you had been. Orkney looked good!

So I guess I have been lucky this year. My trawl of the interweb weather sites seems to be suggesting settled high pressure later this month so that'll probably mean gales and more rain.
