Re: Still no takers?
IE8 has an issue with vertical alignment in table cells. Just another PITA from a poor web designer's point of view. You really would have thought someone would have got it right by now.Silkie wrote:no issues apart from an occasional instability in the drawing of BlueMoment sub-forum pages where the topic titles display closer to the lower line
There are other issues as well . . . I have just spent several hours trying to find a solution to a javascript drop-down menu display problem which offset the menu 10 pixels in IE8. I eventually gave up and created a drop-down menu in pure CSS instead. However, overall IE8 is an improvement on previous versions and won't break your machine so you might as well install it - and if you don't like the way it is displaying things on a particular site then go to Tools and select Compatibility View. If you prefer the result you can tell IE to always display that site in Compatibility Mode.

Dear Nick
For those mortals amongst us whose PhD is not in computery type thingies - I wonder if you would be a dear and either create a separate area where you could carry on with your techno-babble to your heart's content or simply write in English? Whilst my knowledge of all matters technical is lamentably and demonstrably light - I'm sure I've read something about access being quite important. Access in this instance, of course would be related to understanding?
Obliged I'm sure my dear boy.
