I see that Penguin Bolt Holes recommends Port nan Ron near Ardalanish. We went in there temporarily a couple of years ago; it looked sheltered, clockwise, from the NW to E, but you may get some swell. This is a really beautiful spot, and well worth a visit.

There are some rocks to watch out for - we'd entered Port nan Ron in response to a Pan Pan from a motor launch stranded on a rock. We were stood down after a local fishing boat arrived to provide a tow at high water a few hours later.

Port na Ron would translate as Seal rock in Gaelic so no surprise to find shallow rocks there - thanks for the note. :D
