I reckon they're designed to be able to work in either direction by re-arranging the internals.

Interesting thought - must do some web search - mine are single speed so it's conceivable that it might only be a matter of flipping over the pawls.

Barbour hauler.
Apart from the spelling which is proly way-off this is the way to go.
My Hillyard doesn't have a foresheet track, just two ringbolts going through the side deck a metre apart. A length of line, the hauler, goes through a block on the foremost ringbolt and up to a second block through which goes the sheet which is lead back to another sheet on the aft rignblock, thence to the winch.
The angle of the sheet to the clew is adjusted with the hauler.

use use ones with beckets so that they could be bungied up onto the guard wire to keep them vertical when not under load. I think that I'll be doing this to mine as with very light winds they tend to flop over and increase the resistance on the lazy sheet when tacking.
