A very good question . . .
We are back on the old server.
I was able to restore the database a table at a time, but for some reason when I did it on the new server all the admin links still went to this server - so I couldn't change anything.
So - hours of f***ing about for very little other than a slightly more modern look to the whole thing.
Please let me know if there are any glitches in functionality, but it seemed a shame to have to start from scratch and it all seems to be working now.

The only glitch I can't see is the absence of the avatars.
