Perhaps Sahona or DaveS might have an idea about this sort of thing.
I have a VDO fuel guage coupled to a vertical resistance tube type sender which has a plastic type float that slides up/down the tube outer.
The sender was supplied with the TEK-Tank.
The guage only ever reads half of what is in the tank, ie if tank is half full guage reads empty, tank full guage reads half.
I have tried adjusting the little risister thing on the back of gauge unit but could never get it calibrated.
I have removed the sender and slid the float up/down but guage will still only read to half way.
Would it be possible to permenantly alter the resistance of the guage to suit the sender or vice versa?
Advice appreciated.

When I bought the tank (4-5yrs ago) it came with a European resistance sender, only to discover that the VDO guage was American resistance, but the good folk at Tek tanks swapped the sender for an American resist sender.
But as said, it has never been right.
Boat at Rothesay dock Clydebank for the chilly months.
I could remove guage and sender and get to you.

There are two versions of the sender unit on the VDO fuel gauges- one for a single gauge, and one for dual gauges- flybridge and wheelhouse for example. (edit- or is it different gauges? it was all a long time ago!))
I suspect the gauge reading half might indicate the wrong sender.
Will a fixed resistance sort it? Dunno, never tried! The fix on the boat I saw was a second gauge fitted behind the panel.

The sender came from a different place than the guage.
