Hello again,

I'm in sunny (I wish!) Glasgow as I type this forecast. It's just started raining, even though pressure is high. However, it does look better for the weekend so keep everything crossed!

You can watch the forecast for the weekend, 5-day outlook and learn more about the weather at Europe’s first WebTV weather channel, Weatherweb.TV now! Forecasts at Weatherweb.TV are updated every day.
Note that we have had some technical problems over the past couple of days, but I hope that by Friday morning these should be sorted, apologies for the inconvenience caused.

If you have a friend who wants to receive this forecast each week they just need to send an email to sailingweather-subscribe@weatherweb.net

Best wishes,
Simon

WEEKEND WEATHER FORECAST
Issued: 1500 Thursday 18th September 2008

SATURDAY:
High pressure is likely to be centred over the Low Countries on Saturday, extending throughout the British Isles and Ireland. A minor complication will be the warm front moving northeastwards through western and northern Scotland, introducing rain and some drizzle. Breezier conditions here too. A windy day as well is possible through the English Channel as the easterly winds pick up.
For most of the country the day is going to be a fair one. There may be some morning mist and fog patches at first through, especially through the Midlands and northern England as well as Wales and southern Scotland. These clearing away and then the day should be bright with sunny spells.
Thicker cloud affecting northwest Scotland, thanks to the warm front passing close by, with a risk of drizzle, mist and low cloud affecting western and northern areas.
A risk of windy weather through southern coastal areas of England and the English Channel.
Winds will be mainly E-SE10 (F3) through much of England and Wales, but nearer E 20-35 (F6) through the English Channel, and increasing later. Mainly S-SW 15 (F4) over Scotland and Ireland but 20 (F4-5) in the west.

SUNDAY:
High pressure remains close by through Sunday. A strong easterly flow remains in the far south as a cold front moves eastwards through Scotland and Ireland, weakening all the time.
Fair cloudy across central and western Scotland as well as over the coasts of Northern Ireland with some patchy outbreaks of rain here.
Through north Wales, central Ireland, the north Midlands and parts of northern England lighter winds may bring mist and some fog patches here in the morning. These should clear though, leaving a dry day.
For most of the country it is going to be fair with some sunny spells, although thicker cloud for western and southern parts of Scotland.
The strongest winds through the Channel and along southern coasts of England in E-ENE 25 occ 30 (F6 occ F7), lighter, variable winds for the north Midlands, north wales and northern England, then Mainly SW 5-10 (F3) ahead of the cold front through Scotland, becoming W-NW 10-15 (F3-4) behind it.
