Baby wipes

Post by Silkie »

OK. I give in. You were right.

People have been telling me for years now that you can't go to sea without these aboard. Have used them on the last couple of trips and don't know how I ever managed without.

Thanks for the tip. Just wish I'd listened sooner.

Taking serious sunscreen off the palms of my hands was impressive enough but when I managed to get both hands covered in proper grease and two wipes (or it might have been three) were enough to completely clean them I was genuinely amazed.

Kitchen roll - I just wish I had room to store more.

As someone who sails with a gaggle of babies on board (well, not quite so much now they're toddling), I can recommend making sure that the offending baby wipes and nappies are removed from the boat rather than being left to fester under the port saloon bunks for 3 weeks in the summer. Not a good thing.

In a similar vein, I saw somewhere that disposable nappies soak up an amazing amount of "stuff" out of bilges too.

I would imagine it's best to use a fresh one rather than recycle a used one!

They do! Handy with a suitably reshaped wire coathanger. Not that we've really needed it since the posh new engine was installed. :P

huggies

Post by theguerns »

I have had reason to use these on several occasions on other peoples boats when in their engine rooms but I have found a better one yet the incontinent pads for old people they are as cheap or cheaper an bigger and hold alot more. One will hold as much as 4-5lts of water and about 2 lts oil. I dont know how much the old peole pee their pants but I recon they are good for a week at this rate.

Very handy when the bum wash (bidet) breaks down - great for getting rid of the final smears and stops the "itchy bum" syndrome on those long voyages. Also helps prevent the embarrassing skid marks.

Sounds like Cliff is a man who has a wife that is eternaly grateful for washing knickers whithout skidmarks as mine used to have to use a file. Well you know how comfortable they get after 3 weeks at sea
