Portnahaven, Islay?

In an idle moment at work I find myself looking at Portnahaven, Islay on GoogleEarth.
Thinking about possibilities for next year (already) it seems well placed for an overnight stop en route from the Clyde to Barra and I've never been south about Islay
Anyone been there? Any advice? My pilot book is on the boat.
If one were to catch a fair tide at Sanda for the MoK how would the passage work onwards to Portnahaven? If memory serves the chart shows alot of bumpy stuff and strong tides off the Mull ofOa.
Sanda to MoK about 7nms, MoK to MoOa about 25nms, MoOa to Portnahaven about 10nms. Boat speed 4.5 to 5 kts
Thanks
