Re: SIPR

Our first. I can attest to the sunshine, fog, clear nights, some good winds, our runners running also at night. All very exiting. Hats off to the runners, I don't know how they managed it. Good fodder for much reminiscing.

Re: Drying out

So it appears, and right under my nose. Will investigate. I recall that the Oban Marina ferry docks there…
many thanks.

Drying out

One of the blades on my Kiwi prop parted company….Has anyone successfully dried out anywhere local to Linnhe Marine? I did once at Ardvasar a long time ago, but that is too far away. Trying to avoid a lift out. 2m draft. Grateful for any advice… :D

Re: Suitable sealant for diesel filler hose/tank joint.

The hose is indeed extremely stiff and I have yet to pull it entirely off the spigot, although it is nearly there. (the spigot tank join is ok) Replacing the hose looks like a nightmare, so a further botch looks likely. Hermatite hasn’t been made for some years(afaik), however, I unearthed a boxed t...

Re: Suitable sealant for diesel filler hose/tank joint.

Many thanks both for your useful replies. Was planning to take my heat gun just to get the hose fully off, but heating it prior to tightening the j clips sounds gallus. A smear of your sealant for good measure should do it.

Suitable sealant for diesel filler hose/tank joint.

Discovered lots of diesel in the bilges. Traced it, after much grief, to the filler hose/tank joint. The filler hose comes horizontally into the side of the tank (near the top) , 2" dia, held with 2 jubilee clips. There was evidence of some sealant used with a fillet of it visible (red hermatit...

I know the clue is in the title in this case, but in general why oh why do trialers give away the plot these days?
Looks good.
