Re: Stonemouth

Just watched episode 1.. If I had not read the book I wouldn't gave a clue WTF was going on... No where near as good an adaptation as The Crow Road was. IMHO. Nothing is anywhere as good as the adaptation of The Crow Road :) If you have Netflix, and you want to watch something really incomprehensib...

Re: Stonemouth

It wiz brullyant. Get it on Wully's Aye player - it was on Beeb 2 there's still availability for another couple of weeks. I thought it was good although (as previously mentioned) not on a par with The Crow Road, which was one of the best TV adaptations of a book that I have ever seen. Well worth ea...

Re: Stonemouth

BBC 2 Actually. I don't personally know the area but I recognised some of it from Mr Winter's wanderings in the area. Blimey; I was obviously anointed with the moron stick yesterday :). In my defence, I was making a cup of tea when it started, and Mrs jhr had switched channels to watch it, so I was...

Re: Stonemouth

I guess it's like all these things - bits of it were filmed in different locations, depending on the needs of the production. Mr Google says Macduff (I thought he was the Thane of Fife? :)) but presumably that was for the scenes set in the Town itself, with the waterfront stuff done elsewhere. Wully...

Stonemouth

I don't often post in here, but you are obviously the guys to know the answer to this question. I watched the first instalment of the TV adaptation of Iain Banks' Stonemouth last night. Seems OK, though I don't think anything will ever match the adaptation of The Crow Road, some years ago. It was ob...

Re: TOP down

jhr, I'll have you know, sirrah, that I am at least 4 times more prolific than you. And I post at least once a month, (where the given value for month normally equates to a calendrical Terran one, than a Jovian one.) Eeek! I was talking about my posting record on here, not yours. Sorry. :) Anyway, ...

Re: YBW

No need - you've already done it. But does Arsenal work? :D

I see the Lakesailor Gallery of One-Handed Reading Material is open for business again.

Was working quite quickly for a few minutes but it seems to be slowing down again, now. When I can get it to work, it looks quite promising.

Btw, they're now back online, but no pictures or emoticons at the moment by the looks of it. Explanatory note from Dan saying that they got spammed on a major scale.

Re: YBW

Hi, Nick - jhr here, from the Other Place. I was online when it happened, yesterday evening. I am extremely broad-minded but it was not so much porn as sickening filth - quite indescribable. Even in the few minutes I was on, there were multiple posters putting up pictures, so I think it must have be...
