WTF are they doing to the place? I hope they haven't damaged the Victorian Gent's. Used to keep Arghiro against the central jetty bit of the harbour. First task on getting aboard was to fill a bin liner with all the cans, fag packets & chip papers chucked into the cockpit by the Glasgae trippers.

I've never been to Rothsay, inner or outer harbours, the Admiral always warned me off, somat about wash from ferries.

3 questions:

Is the JCB below sea level?

Can Rothsay harbour be spoilt?

Have they managed to do it?

Is this the bit that used to have the pontoons in it that you approached to the left end of the peir?

Ahhh, I see it all now. I presume the stonking great ramp is how they get their toys down there.

I presume they have piled sheet steel across the entrance to keep the Oggin out. Used to be a lovely spot, very 1950's right to the end of the century.

Ah, so, perhaps, you have visited the errmm gents' on the pier; a rather fine example of Victorian (or poss Edwardian) alignment with cleanliness and devotion to idealism in the realm of the the lavvy. Well worth a visit imho.
