Yes but I'm told that there are 50 shades of grey, one of them must have a hint of green in it?

I'm not speaking to you.
We were, however speaking about you on Friday evening last when we were moored up in Tayvallich.
I was recalling to the crew the fact that when you are in such a situation, you just probably walk ashore...
How they laughed. I have to admit the tale does rather grow with every retelling. I think I have you doing 10 yards along the surface now before your ankles get damp... :D

A slight digression, but does anyone on here have the Gaelic? Both liath and glas are grey in Gaelic, but are they the same shade of grey? (I have a mental picture that liath is slate grey and glas is green-y grey but this is based on absolutely nothing and may well be completely wrong.)

Similarly ruadh and dearg for red. (I have no mental picture for any difference in this case.)

Anyone know?

I have space for another person in Round Mull.
If interested, PM me, (or send a carrier pigeon!)

Claysie

No need to use such profanities in my presence. As you are fully aware, my vocabulary does not stretch to such vile language.

Yours in innocence,
Shuggypoos (WTF?)*

Using this translator:
http://www.lexilogos.com/english/gaelic ... ionary.htm
It looks like you are right.
liath = Having a colour between black and white, like ash or stone.
glas = The colour of growing foliage, as well as other plant cells containing chlorophyll; the colour between yellow and blue in the visible spectrum; one of the primary additive colour for transmitted light; the colour obtained by subtracting red and blue from white light using cyan and yellow filters
