Round Mull

Not looking like a fast race coming up?
Forecast winds all of 5 knots (or less), from about every direction!

No, not looking promising at all... Not even allowed oars this time along the Sound of Mull!

You're all believing a weather forecast !!! 3 days out? Mind you how many times has the sunday turned into a driftathon? The 2010 RMR sunday did make up for all the others though. I will wait and see what happens on the day.

So who is going for this "driftathon" then?
I'm not taking my oars which were christened in SIPR. (MrMcP: I've changed them a bit for next year - lighter blades, round shafts, feel better already!)

I'm setting off tomorrow morning from Rhu, early, for Ardrishaig - Canal - Oban, hopefully by Thursday afternoon.

Anyone else heading that way?
Geoff.

Not 100% sure on the timings but there is a Viking festival with rape and pillage @ Loch Fyne Ales, Inverary and Ardrishaig, Wed Thurs and Friday so you should miss them.

Or there's a music festival on Gigha - just turn left instead of right.
Stood beside Nick in the troosers last night - he ignored me! Mind you, I ignored him too. So it all worked out.

I thought I recognised you but couldn't remember who you were.

Don't be so shy next time. Offering to buy me a drink is usually a good way of breaking the ice.

I thought discussing the ornithological details of a corncrake was sufficient - you want drink as well? Anyway, when I'm with retired doctors with their obscene pensions my sillar stays in my truish.

Bit gutted to get to finish line 20mins after the race closed. Bet the other 10 or so also wished for an extension after battling it out in long periods of no wind. But a great fun race, and good camaradery between those in class 3. Pleased with the outcome anyway.
