Ally Nae Mates

Postby Pete Cooper » Sat Aug 31, 2013 7:32 pm

Big thank you to Marisca for a cracking sail today. I still don't get the whole Contessa 32 thing but it was a great day  .
I am however disappointed that I suspect we only managed a second - those Etchells are really quick!
Hmmmmm - just seen that Etchells sail off 12.5 so maybe, just maybe?????

Ah, but look what I found on my phone (sorry poor quality)

That's almost as big as the America's Cup. Some piece of silverware that!

Yes, thanks Marisca for a great sail, some good lessons, and for acheiving such a result with a scratch crew.

So thread could be called "Ally 5 new mates".

I am one chuffed laddie! I'm going to have to add something else to my bucket list now to replace the KG V.
And what a crew - they did it all! Reefed, trimmed and flew the spinnaker in what at times was over 28kt winds - at least that's what I reckon it was when the log shows 7.5 and the wind thingy 21.

And here they are in all their glory ..... so thank you Pete, Geoff, Sandy, Bill and Andy - you've made an old man very happy.

Let me be the first to offer congratulations. Nice to see you looking so delighted. Mind you, it'll all be downhill from here!
