we were there in 2009. well worth the effort imho. very compact venue - hall, tent and pub - all in 100 metres.
if you want to make a trip of it try colonsay the weekend before ( just don`t mention tgc  )

Well, if we do go, the return journey north should be pleasantly fast.

Wednesday to Friday look to be a but breezy, coming, unfortunately for us, from the SW.

Wimped out. We gave it serious consideration (to set off on Wednesday or Thursday), but the idea of having to tack the whole way against SW winds of up to F8 felt like hard work and not exactly pleasurable. Wednesday, which was our preferred first choice, looked pretty bad. Did anyone go out?

We have had gale force squalls with unbelievably heavy rain for the last three days. Weather looks rubbish until Sun/Mon, when it would have been OK for coming home. Too much like hard work and anyway, plus I have manflu and am tiling the bathroom while Kathy is visiting her mum in hospital in Aberdeenshire - so it was all a bit of a non-starter really. Only thoughts of the transat are helping me face up to this morning's grouting episode . . . .

I had an idea of popping in for a wee bit of culture on my way north but I've crapped out and I'm going through the ditch instead. This decision should guarantee mild gentle breezes and smooth seas for all seas from MoK round the north to the Forth so you know who to thank.
I'm really looking forward the challenges of the canal - aye right!

I see from the Jura Stores webcam that a second yacht is now on the moorings. Doesn't look too bad. Not everybody wimped out.....

No, two ferries full of folk set off from Tayvallich on Friday morning as we were packing up. The weather has been god awful all week so we threw in the towel and came home early.
