Location: Aberdeen - Boat Peterhead
Saw these this afternoon in Stavanger. Very deep dimpled effect (cant really see it in the photo). Any ideas to what they are/ indicate? I noticed that the wind rose quite shaply not long before they arrived.

I think it means that thunder and lighting will start at about 20.00 (Noggie time), with heavy rain - and Scallops & Monkfish are to be had for supper..........

They are very similar to a new cloud type which is currently being investigated called 'undulatus'.

Will sne dthem off to the team investigating and see what they make of them.

One of my brothers told me about it - he is a 767 driver and has contributed a few pics taken from the cockpit.
