To cut a long story short, we had to abandon Aja on my brother-in-law's mooring at Salmore Bay last week and came up to check it was all OK yesterday, which it was, and then headed for home today via Crinan, which was nice.

As we stood looking out to loch Crinan, a 'put-a-name-to-the-face' opportunity arose, guess who makes an appearance..

Have passed each other a couple of time without saying hello, but this time were able to introduce ourselves whilst the sea lock filled..

I hope his crew are a bit more careful with the boat than mine were last time we went through.

'Twas I - The decision-maker calculated that canal costs would be less than sitting in ardfern until the weather went unSouth. That was valid until it was also decided to enlist the help of Hugh Kirk and his squad of lokkies to facilitate the transit. I have to concede that it was money well spent, but it did smart a bit when I hit the 'final total' key. Nae damage, and no dirt brought aboard by shore crew.
Nice meeting you Donald. hope you enjoy the 'swirlies' up at connel
