I'm almost sure my profile used to refer to my boat name. Of course, I might be mistaken

You might. I've had a look at my own profile and it doesn't seem to contain less information than it used to. Of course, I might be mistaken.

Wouldn't it be nice if someone just said thanks Nick, great improvement, must have been a lot of work . . .

Of course, most of the work was in the form of over two years development by dozens of members of the open source programming community who gave their time for nothing but hey, what do they know??

Oi! I've already said nice things about a very useful new feature.

If it's any consolation, I spent much of my former working life producing innovations that were routinely met with indifference or outright hostility. You eventually realise that the satisfaction lies in the improvement, not its perception.

Which isn't in any way a justification for losing good things in the name of "progress"!

Wasn't meant to be a moan, sorry if it came across that way. T'was just that with the exciting news that Nick was participating in WHYW, and my memory not being what it was, I went looking for his boat's name so I could see if the handicap was in my class or not.
