(Posting on behalf of a friend . . . this is a very genuine boat, I've sailed her, and if I had known she would be going with this kit list at this price I would have saved my pennies and bought her instead of buying Avy-J)
Designed by Laurent Giles, and introduced in 1972, the Westerly Longbow is a solid coastal or offshore cruiser, built like all Westerlys of the period, to Lloyds specification and fitted out as a spacious family boat Although the same hull was used by other models, to me the Longbow with her fin keel, Sloop rig They are known to sail well and are easily single-handed with a sail plan option for all conditions. The interior is light, spacious and extremely practical for both sailing and for liveaboard purposes.
This particular example has been cared for, maintained and improved it appears continuously throughout her life and it shows as soon as you step aboard. Although the owner still has one or two jobs on his list (it's a boat, after all) she really is in true sail away condition having been well looked after, rigged, upholstered, canvassed and equipped all within the last 7 years. She looks and smells clean and dry and is presented very nicely, a real pleasure to be aboard.
She has a generous amount of kit on board including radar, chart plotter, log/depth, autopilot, gyro, life jacket x 4, VHF/dsc, electric bilge pump, Water heating(new 2015) Wet room with shower hot and cold water, electric immersion heater, gas oven, shore power supply via RCD, various sockets throughout the boat, fm/dab radio with iPod dock, 12v TV antenna/booster, New sea toilet, 2 x leisure batteries with 12v to 240v inverter and engine battery. 12v Wind generator.
