It seems coastwatch is coming to Scotland at last. They are looking for volunteers to man the premises in Irvine.

"Coastwatch scotland Irvine is a charity registered in Scotland SCO44309.
We operate from Irvine. Our aims are to keep a watching brief on the coastal and river areas around Irvine. Our Volunteers are trained in Charts, OS Maps, Radio, RADAR, GPS, Boat handling skills and First Aid. We are going through 2nd. Stage Asset Transfer of a building at the entrance to Irvine Harbour, known as the Pilot House. This disused 4 building of 4 floors, we intend to turn into a watch tower manned by volunteers.
