Any forumites with any experience of getting Dubarry boots repaired?
I have had a pair of Shamrock boots for yonks and the uppers have just started parting company with the soles. Checking prices for new ones resulted in a sharp intake of breath.
I recall from somewhere they can be re-soled but I suspect that means a new layer bonded to the sole.
Do they go back to the retailer or do I send them to Galway? I have had no reply to an email to info@dubarry.
Where is the best deal on a new pair? I have a trip planned for next month and want dry tootsies.

I have successfully had my Dubarry's repaired. Mine were leaking and I emailed Dubarry who at that time asked me to send them to them. This I did and they emailed me back saying that they could repair them, but suggested that they also replace the sole as it was worn. The also advised a price all in for this including p+p of £35. Took a few weeks if I remember - but during the winter - no problem.

That was a few years ago - and yes I still have them and wear them every week. The upper in one is now beginning to separate and I do have a tiny leak again, but not enough to stop me wearing them. I would suspect that they would not be repairable again, but are quite ok in the rain.

The big problem when buying again is that the uppers are now welded to the sole as opposed to being stitched. If you have the old style boot - hang on to them as the new ones aren't repairable!

That's the boots posted off to Galway after a good conversation with their Customer Relations dept. Assuming its only the stitching that has failed they will repair and send them back gratis. They didn't even ask about warranties or how long I have had them. Despite the works shutting for summer hols until 4th August they said they would get them back in time for my cruise mid-August.
A result!

I just got word from home that a parcel from Dubai arrived this morning.

Oh! its not Dubai, its Dubarry.
That's eight days after I sent them off, so a turn-round in four working days.
In my book that is fine service, especially as there are no sovs changing hands.
