So, just so I can get this into my head, the hydrogen comes from the hydrochloric acid and the way to avoid the problem would be to use blast cleaning not chemical.

But yes I know about galvanizing, steelmaking, silicon smelting, alumina refining and suchlike.
and a little about yachts, sailing, and electronics.

If you need galvanizing or powdercoating be in contact for those jobs that no-one normally wants to do, but yachties get "mates rates".
