Sad to hear that the hotel has closed

Of personal relevance as we got married on the pier in front of the hotel.
If anybody has a spare £800k it is apparently for sale.

Re: Rodel Hotel closed
Yes we heard the same, it is a shame. We were married in Harris too and spent a few nights in the hotel.
Also sailed Orla into the bay and spent a week on one of the moorings for our anniversary..
Must be a hard business to sustain, not a lot of local trade, quite a few property's for sale over there at the moment, some very cheap..
Badachro inn over in Gairloch is up for sale too, they all must be struggling..

What about a BlueMoment community buyout?
Nice idea, but I think trade is slipping back to the old ways. April to mid September, best in June to August. Nothing much doing October through the winter, except for a few places at the festive season. Patriotic holidays are fine, but the weather rarely is for more than a day or two!
RET fares help a bit, but don't realy solve the distance and weather problems.
In some respects not too bad a thing, but that's a wee bit selfish......?
