Worst 2 or 3 anchorages

The allure of Katie Morag for the grandchildren was greater than pilot book warnings and adherence of common sense. Wind veered west south west overnight, but waves still came in from the south, so we ended up rolling, yawing and pitching at mooring....departed very early.
What's the connection between Katie Morag and Arinagour?

Mairi Hedderwick lived on Coll for a number of years, and a lot of the landscape, characters and situations are based on Arinagour.

I'm a little red faced because I was getting Ardinamar and Arinagour mixed up.
Despite that, thanks, I've been trying to work out where the scenes in the books came from, I could have sworn I could see the paps of Jura but could never see anything conclusive. Unfortunately, I've never visited Coll so it turns out I don't have any toddler bragging rights.

You get a great view of the Paps from Colonsay but not from Coll.

On a clear day a nice view of Paps from Tiree (Gott Bay). Saw them clearly this year from there. Thats a reasonable distance away, so requires clear weather!

Re: Worst 2 or 3 anchorages
Most of the CBBC Katie Morag series was filmed in the West of Lewis. Not that it prevents us dragging our 5yr and 10 yr old children to Coll! Our daughter (age 5yr) coped with 200nm non stop passage Stornoway to Lerwick in order to see the Shetland ponies this year and the 10 yr old amazed his classmates with his tales of having to undertake watches on deck alone (though they were mainly horrified at the thought of lack of wi-fi or in his teacher's case; lack of power for hair straighteners!). Eleanor was upset when she failed to meet the Loch Ness monster on our way south.....
Any way I digress; our worst anchorage is Diaberg Torridon. Poor holding and v gusty bay, it prompted a night sail back to Plockton some years ago....

The image I'm thinking off is in the artwork in the books. Paps on the left on the same body of land as the landing stage.
Reminds me of Craighouse but there are features that rule it out.
Not really important since I'm sure some scenes are composites or made up anyway.

After two or three times I'm sure he'd get it right.

Calmac have 29 ferries so in theory he could have 29 goes at it. I'd like to think our Ferry driver would have realized his mistake before he was even half way through the fleet. Perhaps someone would even point out his mistake on one of his early attempts.

Once he'd found Coll he could begin the search for Claymore's sense of humour!
