Having been, traditionally, the Cruise Director and as all will agree, having perfomed those duties to consistently incredibly high standards, I have been mulling over the forthcoming event.
In previous years the fine shup Claymore has been at the head of the fleet, leading the way, rescuing ships and souls where needed and generally surpassing the expectations of all assembled.
Last year I bought a 20% share in a chartered yacht and so felt that my status as Crusie Director was valid and not for challenge or even debate.
2009 sees me stowed in the forepeak of LongJohn's Sadler and as such I feel that I cannot really lay claim to the post which is the subject of this topic.
I therefore propose that we take a committee approach to this year's event but would like to propose a few conditions or suggestions.
1)The pace is set by the smallest boat as is the overall destination for each day.
2)Sailing upwind is to be avoided wherever possible.
3)Whilst the area in which we are cruising is one of outstanding natural beauty - stuff the lonely places - lets get into the gin joints wherever possible.
4) Nick is to be left out of the decision making process at all times
No change then really.
