Berth 272, Show Marina

Southampton based Discovery Yachts, will be showing the award winning Discovery 55 blue water cruising yacht at this year's Southampton Boat Show. This outstanding British built yacht from Discovery's extensive Marchwood facility has gained the admiration of ocean sailors worldwide.

The company is now well into the construction of two new models which will be launched next year - the Discovery 67 and a stylish new catamaran, the Discovery Spirit 50. Elegant and enjoyable to sail, each Discovery design is perfect for a couple planning a world trip or simply wanting to enjoy blue water holidays at their best.

Like the Discovery 55, the new 67 comes from the drawing board of celebrated naval architect Ron Holland, who has ensured the new yacht shares the effortless ability to be handled by just two people. Her luxurious accommodation also provides plenty of room for family and friends, with comfortable crew quarters if desired.

The impressive design incorporates a true raised saloon and navigation area that provides panoramic views whether at sea or at anchor. Watches can be carried out at the navigation station in dry and comfortable surroundings, whilst still maintaining a good lookout. The deep, comfortable and spacious cockpit gives a really secure feel, while a choice of single or twin helm stations are offered.

The first three Discovery 67s have been ordered off plan, two of which are intending to join the Blue Water Round the World Rally starting 2009.

Discovery Yachts has also commenced construction of the first of its new Catamarans - The Discovery Spirit 50, a truly ocean-going catamaran for sailing offshore in comfort and safety. This comes from the design of office of the renowned Bill Dixon, with an innovative interior designed by superyacht specialist Ken Freivokh.

Dixon Yacht Design has given the Discovery Spirit 50 an eye catching modern design while maintaining the Discovery ethos of luxury, performance, safety and effortless sailing for two.

The interior layout provides space and luxury including a full width owner's suite plus two guest cabins with ensuite facilities. The main saloon is stunning while the space on deck has been carefully designed to provide comfort and safety at sea. This is a really stylish catamaran that offers both fine blue water sailing and luxury living with all the quality and comforts of home.

Full details of the new 67 and the Discovery Spirit 50 catamaran will be available aboard the Discovery 55 on berth 272 at the Southampton Boat Show.
