finding moorings

hi can anybody help with info as to finding moorings in or around newcastle upon tyne and gateshead, i have a 44ft narrow boat

Not sure what kind of mooring you're after, but all I know is that there are 2 marinas. One is around North Shields, and the other is St Peters which is much further u river near the city centre.

A quick bit of googling suggests that you need to talk to the Port of Tyne people (www.portoftyne.co.uk) who control everything on the navigable bit of the Tyne from Wylam to the sea.
