When reassembling the top end of a Volvo 2003 be aware that the thermostat housing bolts are not the same length as the shorter of the four bolts on the exhaust elbow.
The time to find out is not just after you have snugged the exhaust elbow with three bolts on to it's new gasket.
There's not a lot in it - don't ask me how I know!
