Tin Church on Seil

Postby ash » Thu Dec 14, 2006 11:04 pm

Just watched documentary on Channel 5 about a couple who rebuilt a corrogated iron church on Seil into an art deco home and B&B business during 2006.

Missed the beginning of the programme so never worked out exactly where it was.

It'sjust before the top of the hill down into Ellenabech http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=175485&y=716825&z=3&sv=175485,716825&st=4&ar=Y&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf
We had a close look when it was for sale but wouldn't have offered so much even if we had got round to that. Haven't seen the programme yet but with luck, I may have videoed it.

Imagine meeting you on an internet forum . . .

£80,000 is a lot for a wreck, but I bet they would get every penny they have spent and more back right now if they sold it.

They paid £80k (IIRC it was on for offers over about £35k), and spent 70k (so far). They would bet a lot more than £150 if they sold it now, that's for sure. Not sure if I could live on such a busy road though - must be 3 or 4 busses go past it every day :D Mind you, now they are TV stars, the tour busses are going to stop outside their door so they can all have a gander.
