Culture shock

Postby Nick » Thu Sep 07, 2006 4:11 pm

Currently in Santiago de Compostela, city of pilgrimage, wandering round the cultural hotspots. Boat is in the marina at VilaGarcia - our first Med Mooring. so far so good, but we still have to get out. Marina 17 Euros for two nights with excellent free showers, proper security etc. Took the train here. Met a YotBlogger on the train - Yacht Mystical. They are heading for the Algarve with a view to wintering there.

Spent yesterday cruising the Ria Arosa - mostly a surreal landscape of mussel rafts in the fog.

Blog update as and when - mobile has packed up and decent internet access is sporadic.

Hope everyone reading this is having as good a time as we are.

My Musto Sunnies are wearing a permanent groove across the bridge of my nose. Wind is on the beam, F4. Just another day at the office really.

Glad to hear all is peachy with you too.

As previously reported hardly a pavement intact here as the hot autumn sun continues to burn and crack the flags.

If one might correct your post - it might be better to have said "The marina cost is 17 Euros per night. Showers are included within that price.
Nothing is free Nick.
I hope you take that in the spirit in which it was intended. I'd hate for you to return and possibly be seeking employment in education with your grammar gone a bit sloppy.

"I'd hate for you to return and possibly be seeking employment "

Let's get this straight

Bowles has never had any yearning to work at any time in his life.

He now never intends to work again.

He has the attitude of a member of the idle rich.

Unfortunately for him he has the bank balance of a bankrupt!

Neither fact being anything new to Nick.

He always has the safety net that Kathy will probably get some sort of job anywhere in the world to keep him!

Scurrilous . . .

To paraphrase Micawber, hand to mouth is OK if the dexterity exceeds the voracity.
