Round Shuna Race

I've seen reference to this, but can't find any instructions.
Which Shuna is it? (north of Lismore? or East of Luing?)

Seems to be run by Corinthian, but their website doesn't appear to be up to date.

Any info? Is it an interesting venture?

Feeder race is 23rd August from Oban to Croabh - yes, Cuan is allowed! And the Round Shuna is on 24th August so obviously it's the yin aff Luing. As befits a corinthian club, turning up and taking part is the way it's done.
Never done it but I have bummed a ride for this year - racing through Cuan, I feel, is best done on someone else's boat.

Entered one year but it was cancelled due to excess wind (they have dinghies taking part and it was decided that having watched a 45ft Oyster fail to get cleanly off the pontoons at Craobh, it might be unpleasant for the wee boats).

Course is any direction round Shuna, and each boat is given an individual start time, the idea being that in theory all the boats finish at the same time, making the finish line somewhat crowded. First over the line wins. Might have a place on a boat this year if it's still in Ardfern by then.

Looks an interesting possibility, and something a bit different.

But all these trips to the west might cause going back to the old habit of finding a marina in the west for the summer?
Rounding the MoK is interesting the first few times, but then a bit boring subsequently unless the wind gets up a bit. And it adds a couple of days to a race time. Of course the more times does enable refining the knowledge of the back eddies for SIPR next year!
