I learn today that Silkies can be summoned by tears on the tide or by "certain songs."

Which songs?

"Seal You Later, Alligator", by Bill Haley and the Comets?

"Seal Meet Again", by Vera Lynn?

"A-Wassealing We Will Go", traditional English?

"Seal Be Coming Round the Mountain (When She Comes)", traditional American?

"Sealong, Farewell, Auf Wiedersehen, Goodnight", by Rogers & Hammerstein?

Yes, isn't it odd that a boat named like that should be green?

Although I've heard since the coallition they're more like pink men!

Think my favortite bit of folk-lore is the washer(s) by the ford. Or is it bridge? Proper chilling.

I reckon Ubergeekian will be fighting the Selkies off with a stick with that little selection.

I'll try "Lu-seal" by Chick Berry, next time I'm in tartan waters. Wonder if Rick Stein has a good recepie for Selkie?
