Sub aground off Kyleakin & wishful thinking

Some Admiral/Captain/MOD types are desperately hoping the sub did indeed go aground on a falling tide. The next really decent-ish tide is at end of the first week in November ...

That's the second, within a month, v. expensive navy ship, HMS Daring being the other, straight from the builders yard [which the Captain's are determined to drive] into the knackers.

There is a video clip via the Independent - the commentary speaks of the 39000 panels making it able to sit unseen in coastal waters.
Perhaps the plug must have been switched off - the Sub is there as plain as the boil on Para's bum

probably an insurance scam, write them off, get the market value back, and save the running costs.

Wishful thinking- if he'd parked it a bit closer in, we could leave her there and plug her into the grid- cancel a few windfarm contracts?

I heard a rumour that due to defence cutbacks it came from the yard with OpenCPN, a dodgy set of CM93 charts and a toughbook off Ebay.
On second thoughts if it did this incedent probably wouldn't have happened.

Proof once again that the most useless thing you can have on a yacht is a naval officer. :) :)

Following this grounding it is reported the sub limped back to Faslane for repairs, thank goodness no one dropped a depth charge on her.
