Re: Whats Hot and Whats Not - This Is Not - My New Bed Linen

Looks something like a Silitski Dot image in the Magic Eye book, probably if you stare at it long enough you will see a naked blonde swimming in Bondi blue waters!
Hope you sleep with both eyes closed. :D

Re: Scotland from space

Erica has brought my attention to some pics of Scotland taken from the ISS http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-21614508 if you look carefully you can see Eamonn in Millport :D Bet it doesent show what I was drinking at the time, maybe Wully's "Awe Naw" post might reveal what it was. :lo...

That'll be the visitor's moorings away then. Good thing too, they were clogging up the bay. I don't think I've ever noticed the "sandy beaches", better take my bucket and spade for my next visit. If the owners want to discourage visitors they may remove the buoys but leave the ground tack...

Re: Scenario II

I lost the Avon while towing on a crossing from Sanda to Rathlin. The patch on the bow with the D ring had pulled clean off. Two lessons learned... 1. don't tow the dink on proper trips; 2. if you do tow use a bridle linking the bow D ring to the side-rope fixing points. By the time the dinghy was ...

Its a credit to your mum and dad they kept her all those years.
Be thankful they had so many years enjoyment from her and that you were part of that.
Long may they and the boat live.

Re: non-skid stuff on the seats/step-downs.

Juan sheet 'nra glue arrived on Monday morning - PDG as they were ordered on Friday. Now the fun begins - simple seats either side of the boat and not a straight line or square angle to be found... At least the Sun is shining and it's dry if a bit cold. Mind me asking what the stuff is actually mad...

Re: Think we have been had!

What thread was that then? C_W I don't think that you should waste too much time searching for it. Some of the 'least unpleasant' 'punishments' for unplugging a shore power plug was leaving a couple of used split pins on someones deck. It got worse! Guess you havent saw the film "The Field&quo...

Congradulations LS, does that mean you wont have time to bake a Whiskey fruit cake en passage down the Kyles :( I would personally reccommend the Cumbrae Water Sport Centre for the practical, cheaper rates in sept. When I done it through them they were the only local school that did not use roller f...

I assumed to avoid being caught on a lee shore if the wind picked up early and avoid overfalls in the same case.

Excellent thread Aquaplane, thanks.

Re: Think we have been had!

Reading the thread in TOP about shore power etiquette, there are some clearly very scary people over there who would exact a dreadful revenge on people just for borrowing a few amps. Perhaps a PM to them would be a good idea and get some good old fashoned enforcement measures in place. What thread ...

Thanks Geoff and Ash for your efforts. This is the same company, oddly enough the name on the Paypal email reciept we recieved was Darragh Conboy. And coincidently Sligo is where I was brought up and lived for 25 years before I moved to Glasgow. I hadent done anything about it since last post as awa...

Re: Think we have been had!

Thanks all for advice. I browsed the web for contact details for Paypal but seemingly you cant contact them unless you are registered and logged in with them, which I dont want to do. Will give it another few days and maybe then cancel the credit card payment. Unfortunatly I had made the purchase be...
