Re: New plans for Edinburgh Marina

It is proposed that the marina will be in the remaining part of the west harbour at Granton. This used to be larger than the east harbour but was partly filled-in for building land forty-odd years ago. I think the moorings referred to are in the east harbour.

Re: Water supply in Arinagour

I think the concern was that water was in short supply rather than any particular form of misuse by anyone. See http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-29663693%20(Doesn't make such a good story, though.)

Any particular reason for not using your local Monumental Mason? http://www.memorialgravestonesoban.co.uk/

Don't know anything about them except what's on the website.

Re: RYA Yachtmaster

back off topic ;) Sea levels are currently rising at 3mm pa so assuming my NP218 is 30 years old then that is 9cm, not a trifling amount when magnified over such a huge area. Also read many years ago that the 'engine' that drives the tidal flow off the west coast were the twin estuaries of the Mers...

Re: Glenuig moorings

Haven't seen Antares charts. We use CmapNT which, so far, have been accurate. I suspect they're all derived from the same source data and are just different presentations. If your assertion about being derived from the same data is meant to apply to Antares charts, you are incorrect. See http://www...

Apart from that annoyance, it's a great toy.

Just zoom further.

Moderator! Moderator! This man should be disqualified for a false start. He posted before the daylight starts to get less, and anyway although the 22nd has 4 seconds less daylight, TN do not start DI until a week's time.

Re: How wide the Grey Dogs?

Well, according to the plate in the boat its air draught is 14m, but that's the mast head, and aerials and things probably add another metre, so call it 15m. The chart gives the bridge clearance as 14m and the power line safe clearance as 13m. (IIRC these are measured from MHWS.) If it is a recent ...

I think you must be thinking of Volvo.

Re: Seasick pills

Why has nobody mentioned Stugeron ? Perhaps because nobody was asking for suggestions for anti-seasickness medication. There is a lot of variation between individuals with respect to both the benefits and the side-effects of various treatments, so what suits you best might not suit me, and vice-ver...

Glad your wife found Avomine suited her - it is readily available from pharmacies without prescription. Phenergan is substantially the same stuff. Hyoscine, in the form of Kwells , Joy Rides and other proprietary preparations is still readily available, even if your regular stockists no longer keep ...
