I just discovered they have a website about the plans, http://www.obanbaymarine.org.uk . But I suppose you dedicated surfers will have known that for ages. It says on their website that they are taking over the Oban Bay visitor moorings. It's not before time; I don't think they have been maintained ...

We'd like to, but the problem is my employer who doesn't give me an early May Monday off so we are constrained to the weekend only. For us, that makes getting south of Cuan an epic journey...

I have experience of 2 makes of paddlewheel log, neither of them NASA. One used a plain piece of thin stainless bar as the spindle; it was an easy push fit in/out. It was possible for it to fall part way out if the log was pushed too far into its fitting. The tube of the fitting was intended to keep...

I'll assume that was a typo - for the meantime. :caveman:

Yes, the finger/key interface fails again so you can put your hairy little non-smiley away again just now.

We can't make the Clyde weekend but we could accommodate two refugees on the West for a weekend, subject to dates and diary coinciding.

Fiamma Aqua 8 Water Pump

This is an unused water supply pump that includes a pressure switch and inlet filter. It's rated 10 litres/minute, 12Volts, 3.4Amps. With 13mm hose fittings. Does £40 seem reasonable?
Send me a PM if you want to know more.

Jabsco Water Puppy Drain/Shower pump

This is a 24volt pump. It's far from new but it still works. It's rated at 32 litres/minute. It's a 2000 series, code number 23680-2103. It has 1/2 inch BSP female fittings. Is it worth £25 to anyone? Send me a PM if you are interested. Derek. p.s. There's a small prize for anyone who can figure wh...

Hot Air Duct 55mm

Left over from installing a heater, I've got over 3 metres of 55mm diameter duct. It's in Edinburgh - I don't fancy its chances in the post! Send a PM if you're interested.

The Scottish Islands by Hamish Haswell-Smith is highly regarded by me and several other west coast sailors that I know. It's about (almost) all the islands round Scotland, but very few are not on the west coast so it's very relevant. It is written as a reference book, containing a lot of statistical...

I think the Glen Ogle burger van is away seasonally. The previous incumbent retired this summer but passed the business over to another couple, who seemed to be giving it the same dedication as their predecessors did. I live in hope anyway, sharing as I do the route from Edinburgh to Barcaldine of a...
