Re: Portavadie Again

No wind looks likely. I will give a call on Friday to find out what is acceptable as I don't want to upset anyone for future visits to the restaurant etc. My friend takes great pride in producing the food for this weekend and I don't want to put him off either. It looks like we may be motoring to La...

Re: Portavadie Again

We should be heading from Troon to Largs on Friday night and then on to either Portavadie or Tarbert. Portavadie sounds good but we will need somewhere to get the barbecue fired up. Is there space there for a small barby and four merry sailors or would we be better in Tarbert?

Perspex/Makrolon windows in central Scotland

I need to get two Perspex windows cut for a Trapper. Does anyone know a company in Glasgow or surrounding area who can do this from a template?

Re: Pictures of other peoples boats

I think it was the best single day of sunshine we sailed in last year.
We sailed to Tarbert from Troon and had a great night in Tarbert but woke to the more normal grey skies and rain.

Pictures of other peoples boats

I was sorting some photos from last year and found these. I don't know who the boats belong to but the photos were taken between Troon and Tarbert on the 7th of June. http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff180/neilmcc-01/IMG_6540.jpg http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff180/neilmcc-01/IMG_6544.jpg htt...

Voyeurs

Since I tend to read the posts here but don't contribute much I thought I should maybe put something up. I've tried to include a couple of pictures of other people in their boats around Troon and also one of the three basking sharks which were cruising around Lady Isle a couple of weekends ago. Don'...

Because of the 'handiness' of dealing with Jessails in Ardrossan I decided to order the new sail from them as I hadn't had a reply from Forth and I am extremely impatient. I have now had an e-mail with a 'ballpark' figure from Forth MT for the sail of some £200 plus VAT less than the Jessails pri...

Ain't it just

I took my Dad and his brother from Troon and stayed the night at Rothesay on Saturday. We had a great sail up from Troon with a gusty wind but no rain, only losing the wind completely between Little Cumbrae and Bute for a short time. Caught the breeze again and made a good 5.5 knots heading into Rot...

We spent Saturday night in Rothesay harbour. There were only three or four berths left at 4pm when we arrived so 7 boats would seem unlikely. There is a pontoon at the other side of the harbour which I believe is shallow but may not be a problem for trailer/sailers. There were still quite a number o...
