And Ms Stormy can quell those mutinous comments, we have a chemical loo, in the garage at home. I thought you liked the Yarrrr, talk like a pirate stuff? You can stop that - or I'll hit you with a rock bun. This is the link http://www.talklikeapirate.com/ There DO seem to be a lot of boats for sale ...

I have absolutely no sound on my Babbage Differential Engine. The punched card with the sound on stopped working.

Annoying as I do like a bit of Steely Dan!

I think you should ask your crew what they want. Yes - not being grabbed with a 'Yarrh' when reaching over from one narrow bunk to put the kettle on the one meths stove. Having consulted the Corps of Galley Slaves Directive 013378/B I think I'm entitled to request a 'fridge/freezer with chilled wat...

As a galley slave I would just like to point out that I'm still hoping for something a bit bigger, namely something with:

29 triple boilers
a separate boudoir with a decorated fireplace
a staircase with a clock
Leonardo di Caprio

Or failing that - something with a liferaft and standing head room.

Aquaplane and I spent an extremely pleasant afternoon walking up to Lock 8, having a pub lunch (not as nice as my galley food) and helping two boats most of the way out. It seemed to me even back in June that quite a few of the lock gates were leaking somewhat. Ther is also a culture of knocking of...

The wine one the menu was £250 a bottle. Everything else about £10 for the usual vin de plonk on the menu. There was a defibrillator unit on hand as well. There was a rather friendly doe, a deer, a female deer, on the road near the ferry landing. She was asking when Autumnwatch was on, with t...

Is this the same jolly nice government who are being *forced* by the EU to *harmonise* fuel duty for motor boats? I hope the RNLI have factored that into their budget. :x I currently Gift Aid money through my payroll to the RNLI - I shall have to see about an increase for them, for them to claw the...

Oooh! Roll my Rrrr's? Skipper says I have an automatic one for reefing with a sacrificial strip. I do roll a bit when I'm sent onto the foredeck and made to do boaty stuff under threat of 'The Cat'. If you have shivering timbers you need to get that looked at professionally - have you had an osmosi...

Because I was only born in Liverpool and lived near Seaforth I am often referred to as a Woollyback as technically that's Lancashire.

I also hope to take in the Anthony Gormley statues opn Crosby beach. The ones stopping locals launching their boats off the beach.

The pub seemed OK when we were there this year, and reasonably full too, no complaints there. It was a bit of a treck to the shop at the caravan site, and there wasn't much in it either, a good shop would be welcome. Do you remember the price of a certain bottle of wine on the menu, skipper? I now ...

There is an excellent article about restoring varnished wood in the magazine Practical Boat Owner. It's on page 60 of its August 2008 edition which is currently available in most boaty shops (but I've just purchased mine tonight in WH Smith's on Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station.)

I have purchased the necessary raw materials for my entry off Preston Market this afternoon. I have also taken time out of my busy schedule of rope laundering this weekend to attend to the challenge.
