Re: Snow

It's just a wee hole in the roof. I'm sure the landlord will tack a cringle over it in a day or two.

In the meantime, keep an eye open for evil snowmen & call the Doctor if you see one.

Shortest day tomorrow.

If the world ends at 11.20am as predicted by our friends the Mayans it will be the shortest day ever.

But 11.20 am where? That's already safely passed in Oz.

Re: Wanted - Very Old Dinghy

I have a Maestral 5 with the solid transom split after getting trapped under the boat. It would probably suit you fine & is a grand & highly visible shade of yellow. Is Staffordshire close enough?

Re: coastguard again

During my wee sail out of Dunstaffnage last week (when I should have been in the pub with you reprobates) I never heard Belfast but there were the lovely soft long vowels of a lassie from Stornoway whose weather started at the MoK. Bit of a bummer if you're heading south frae Oban and want to know ...

I could post you a shilling for the meter, but it would cost me ten bob!

Tides?

On the Clyde? Them's not real tides at all. Why would you need to consider the effect on a boat with sails up or a working engine? :D

That'll have to be paid for by upping the charges on the registered moorings I guess. You just can't win can you?

Yup, done that, naughty bit of sneakyness from a government that promised to reduce red tape. Yeah, by simply giving unbridled powers to unelected quangos! Nice one, "Call me dave!"

Re: Trouble in't Kyles

If it was on a big sheet of poly canvas as a "temporary" banner would it still need planning permission? Or perhaps get planning permission for a couple of flagpoles & then fly it as 2 flags. Surely the hotel name & contact number wouldn't be a problem, plus another name for the sh...

Ohh, that strikes a chord. My wee boat recently came out for the first time in over 3 years & with a rather long list of jobbies to do. But my ast track record suggests she will go bac in again with many not completed & some not even started. :shake:
