Re: Anchoring for the night.

Nae galvie buckets on ma boat. All plestik. I'm now imagining a bit of bungy rubber and a dancing beer bottle! Whatever, the principle is good. Maybe we can have a piccy gallery at the end of the season. Good idea, best picture of a boat on the rocks gets an increased insurance premium? :troll:

Re: Anchoring for the night.

Think you'll get a better rest if you tuck right in under the steeply wooded shoreline? Not if you've got one of these on anchor-watch. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w139/colymbus/gigha022.jpg It lost satellite view, thought it was 200feet ashore and woke everyone up- more than once. I know th...

Re: Rugby

The first thing to do is reset the trip when the engine is up to temp & you are already cruising. Incidentally, Cruise Control is NOT good for good mpg figs. Stop using the brakes, keep the R foot really gentle on the throttle & slow down using engine braking as the injectors get shut off on...

Re: Crown Estate removes unlicensed moorings from Kilchattan

I liked it when you could sling yer 'ook & chain wherever you damned wanted. In the area I was, if you were stupid enough to get too close to existing stuff you would politely be asked to move. Those whoo failed to show due condsideration for existing moorings might suffer frequent loss of their...

Just put the sheet over the duvet rather than the other way around.

BTW they all look the same with the light out & your eyes closed.

Re: ArchieP

Why is it American flagged? Is the Phillipines the 52nd state now? Or is he claiming that Scots lineage entitles him to US citizenship? Or is he actually a Yank anyway?

Re: Sanda

That'll be the visitor's moorings away then. Good thing too, they were clogging up the bay. I don't think I've ever noticed the "sandy beaches", better take my bucket and spade for my next visit. Goodness me is your boat so badly equipped as to lack the basic seaside necessities! There mu...

Re: Fenestrated snurble grip-thribleys

"Fenestration"? Why would anyone want a window in their snurble gripthribley? It just doesn't make sense. They are lighter and stronger when fenestrated. Rubbish, the glass is heavier than the cut out it needed for it & putting holes in things is bound to weaken them. The only benefit...

Re: Mooring for sale

If you're interested, there are 2 or 3 for sale at West Connel, by the Oyster Inn. I could put you in touch with the Mooring Association. People seem to have been put off by the 2 boats on the beach last winter. I rescued a Micro-plus off the boulders opposite the pub some years ago (mid-90's ish)....

I don't think many on here actually "use" any time, they're more likely to just watch it pass them by.

Nice & calm just across the Falls. It's where I delivered my first boat to when I sold her.
