Re: BT

I hate saying this but BT just sent me an email "as a loyal customer (fek you jimmy)" bearing free gifts; 500gb on BT cloud yuk, anti-virus from McAfee which just puts me right for plucking by them, faster repairs to the phone line excluding fibre which I know you'll be disappointed about,...

Re: New sails in Scotland

I think I need more options. Crusader look OK on price but quality may be suspect. Owens look good on quality but feck me, the price is a bit steep. Billy boy still hasn't got his finger out, he hasn't even produced a bill for valeting the sails he has had, and someone else has told me two more tal...

Re: BT

Is that 7:1 that we remain or 7:1 that we don't? To get £1 back you have to give them £7; I presume the thieving gits give you your original stake back as well? Only paid out if we remain. A fiver that, upon our return at the end of this month from our sailing venture in the Tyrrhenian Sea, Towers ...

Re: BT

The "off" button isn't the only piece of BT equipment required but is the most important. At the behest of the Laird I invested in these plug things, forgot where they all are (herself has parked them in) and now just switch all the power off when the Internet fails which occurs frequently...

Re: BT

The box is fitted to the outside of the house. An engineer has to come and run a cable from that to the inside and then that is plugged into the new router. The old cable is also removed by BT and they say that they check that all is fine and dandy once that is all done. We are now deadline day + 4...

Re: The word on the street

James, Silkie and I left a few of Tesco's remaindered Rum stock around there. The decision whether to sail and catch the tide around the Lizard had to be made by 6am and by 3am the rum "won" and it was back to bed/bunk

Re: Foredeck Hatch Comparisons and Opinions/Advice Required

So, any comments, opinions, recommendations on these or other hatches? I'm in the same floaty thing. Bainbridge type 60 is now 219.95. At that price, it's cheaper than the cost of reglazing my current Lewmar rollstop 60 circa 1995. What choice did you make, may I ask? If Lewmar had not made it impo...

Re: New Sprayhood by copying the old one

Claysie ....or classiest as my spell predictor wants to name you..... Classiest indeed. This is a grave error, insult even, by Apple, by whom this is being written, as his Apple iphone has departed this life in a violent explosion leaving the auld goat bereft, despondent and silent. For which we ca...

Re: Lang Mae Yer Lums Reek and Some 2016 Thoughts

The other boat that interested us was this one - http://www.devalk.nl/en/yachtbrokerage/201371/DECKSALON-CUTTER-43.html. Bit pricier but worth considering when the pound/euro was attractive. Bit bigger than we'd wanted though but she looks good value if you want a big go-anywhere boat. You'll have ...
