Re: Jura - Great Canal Journeys

Continuity isn't their strong point. Just because the bay came after Corryvrechan and before George Orwell's place may not place it. Having said that there is bay just north of there which looks promising on Google maps. I thought it may be the bay, that I can't remember the name of, which is sort o...

Re: The nichts

Some knob was on R4 putting the case that we should ignore the Scots and stick with BST. They don't seem to realise that all Europe has daylight saving time and it's not just Scottish crofters to blame. I somtimes dispair for my fellow countymen. Please don't get independence and leave us Northerner...

Re: Submarines

Me and Ash had to make a minor course adjustment on Monday morning as we exited Kip heading for Toward. I had a feeling they could be about as I saw a couple of boats heading down river through the murk as I came back from dropping the kids off at the pool.

Re: Avoid letting people down.

And there was I thinking that the equinox was when the sun crosses the equator and day and night are equal length. I forgot about defraction, or was it refraction? The atmosphere bending light, which I forgot I knew about from doing celestial navigation years ago. Anyway, equal days and nights don't...

Re: Autopilot fix or replace, who to go to?

For a man like yourself, who can walk on water Roberto - I believe its hands in pockets time. I thought that I demonstrated I couldn't in fact walk on water? I must admit that I haven't tried again in the several epoch since our first collision (meeting sounds so banal ) so maybe I now can. I can't...

Re: Autopilot fix or replace, who to go to?

The current old Autohelm doesn't have a rudder position sensor. But the man says it's not supported and he can't get parts. The replacement needs a rudder position sensor. I don't know it it's a % pos[sup]n[/sup] sensor or an index sensor just to tell when it's central. I have to say that the origin...

Re: Being Retired

I came to the boat in June and have been home for two separate weeks since.

Done about 6/7 weeks sailing and loads of fettling.

I suppose it will have to end some time but there is no rush.
