Re: Best Small Cruisers (22-24ft)

Maybe consider the Achilles 24 as well, if you value performance over accomodation.

Genoa for c.40ft yacht

Genoa sail came from a 38-40ft classic wooden yacht, some minor repairs carried out near the head, some superficial staining, some hanks need a little bit of work. Being sold to raise money for a local charitable sailing trust, sold as seen. Luff ( Head to Tack ) 9m 78cm - 32ft 1inch Leech ( Head to...

Re: Cockpit drains and stopcocks...

Close all sea-cocks except the engine exhaust, which is a blimey to get to and above the waterline anyway. I keep the engine keys clipped to the engine sea-cock so that I cannot forget about it. Also having to open up the engine compartment every time I start her up means I cannot avoid a cursory gl...

How do you like your marina berth?

Hi everyone I'm looking to do a bit of quick and dirty research on the matter of pontoons berths. My local harbour is planning some new berths and the sailing club wants to put a case to them as to what should be considered a fair and reasonable way of allocating the berths. Suggestions include- sel...

Yacht trailer wanted

Looking for a galvanised, road-legal trailer to take a Vega, i.e. 3500kg AUW.
Ideally would need to be in towable condition so that I can collect it easily.

Re: vane gear for an Albin Vega?

We also got ours from eBay, and like, almost every Vega, we have a Navik. Wasn't totally straightforward as it turned out some of the bits were missing, but all worked out in the end.
I think some of the other common vanes are too large for the Vega (Aries, Monitor, Hydrovane etc).

Re: Stornoway

Right, Nick gave me a guilt trip about not using Bluemoment yet, so here I am! Was great to race against another Vega. Fairwinds beat us in two races, we beat them in one. So a rematch would be welcome, I think! Anyway, here's a pic I took of Nick's boat during the Coronation Cup:
