Hatched in the Doric

Nice to see some Bluemoment faces in the Doric last week, and amazing what can come from those conversations... From that evening the following plan has hatched... Round Rockall Rival Rally. The Rival is one of the early fibreglass boats from the 1970s, designed by Peter Brett. They are known for se...

Re: The needs are drawing in

I heard of someone with a liferaft, but its 6 man, valise and out of inspection!! (but you knew that already)

If you get desperate enough to buy a new windvane, I can recommend Seafeather as excellent value.

Re: The complex questions of life

Presumably those not wearing boxers wear briefs.
With briefs there three holes, one for each leg and one for the torso. Which hole do you use at the urinal? If using the leg hole, then surely there's no need to undo the belt and trouser waist band, and the fly (zip or buttons) is adequate?

Re: The Russians are Coming

Can't be much of a yachts man to want to go in Loch Striven. What''s in there? I went once to see, and saw not much. I went a second time to have a look at the cold layup Cargo vessels that were stacked in there a few years back, bow to stern alongside each other with a rake of anchors out in every ...

Boatshow

I spent three days manning a stand at the Boatshow at Inverkip. I found it interesting speculating on the level of real boating interest of people encountered based on their attire. That show has a much wider audience than just boats and things marine. Half the stands (maybe more) are about such top...

Re: Phone GPS in Car

Another complicated question... It's OK to use a GPS, but not a phone while driving. But when is a phone not a phone and when a GPS not a satnav? BOther (some models anyway) can be the other device, so I suspect this would be a tricky question if brought to court. And there are some absurd anomalies...
