Re: Wee bits of teak (or similar)

Could you Mibbies find ‘normal’ cleats that will match up to the holes in the toe rail , won’t matter if they lie parallel to the deck as long as you can get a rope under.

Or maybe some heavy duty aluminium angle iron? Would be longer lasting and slimmer than teak.

Re: Bluewater/liveaboard forum?

The CA strikes me more as a business than a club...

I would suspect the joining fee would be better spent on a few beers with fellow travelers en route than is hanging around a club in London.

You don’t need to follow it chapter and verse....

I’m sure you won’t obey all the stuff on a web forum either?

Re: Review of 2018

We were planning on setting of to the Baltic in May but the crew blew out her ACL skiing last March which canned sailing pretty much last year apart from some solo cruises and a gentle sail for a week anchoring around Jura and Islay as the crew was confined aboard by the bust knee. Three solid month...

Re: Brokers- perhaps not a total waste of time after all

Moody owners is a good resource.

I’m on my second Moody and really like this one, a ‘98 36 CC.

But if I was choosing between the 39 and a Sealord I’d be going for the westerly..

Re: Brokers- perhaps not a total waste of time after all

We went south to find our current boatie. The Solent is a crap place to sail but great place to find and fix up a boat with so much choice in both boats and services. We saved a heap of money buying down there. I recon over the cost of new standing rigging, saildrive service, new sprayhood and cockp...
