Re: Loch Coruisk?

The building overlooking the anchorage is not an open bothy but a locked climbing club hut. Yeah, I know. And it should stay locked after the attitude displayed by the smelly climbers who sneered at one of my crew who had spent a lot of her free time painting and repairing that bothy simply because...

Re: Loch Coruisk?

Loch Scavaig is a nice spot to anchor - as long as a blustery breeze isn't slamming down off the Cuillins... And there aren't any smelly climbers in the bothy. There is a path along the side of Loch Coruisk and on a sunny day it is a really nice peaceful place to be in between the tourist boat landi...

Re: EEE netbook

I've got Navionics on my iphone which is very handy unless it's sunny but that's seldom a problem... If it is sunny I can see well enough where I am and where I'm going 8) There is a rumour of an ipad on the horizon which will also have the Navionics on it - as well as a ton of music and the odd mov...

Which one? Do tell!

I can't remember now, it was back before they changed over the forum softwear- the subject that kicked it all off as I now remember.

Re: New to the forum

There is a paradox here in that quite a few of the same people frequent both TOP and here, indeed our webmeister himself seems incapable of resisting the urge to enter into all sort of frays on TOP that do not reflect the wisdom and caring attitude seen on here. Maybe it's the company he keeps here...

Re: New to the forum

:tiphat: Just a quick post to say Hi to everyone. Some forumites may recognise me from YBW.com, where I actually found the link here, but this seems a far more sociable place. The people here are 'real' virtual people as opposed to the somewhat opinionated (minority) virtual choobs with high self r...

I vaguely remember trying to get cash out of the interactive tourist info display in Loch Maddy or Boisedale on the way to the hotel.....

Does that count?

Re: Local moorings for local people

Claymore, Did you know that you don't need to go through the Lagoon Moorings Association? Talk to the Crown Estates commissioner direct- they had stopped trying to deal with the association last I heard are were accepting direct applications. (This was a year or so back so I don't know if it is stil...
