Claymore, Did you know that you don't need to go through the Lagoon Moorings Association? Talk to the Crown Estates commissioner direct- they had stopped trying to deal with the association last I heard are were accepting direct applications. (This was a year or so back so I don't know if it is stil...

A fine start to the season - again.

Last year: Launch boat, go to new mooring. Hit rock, return to boatyard, lift boat.

This year : Start engine to leave pontoon for new mooring, starter switch jams, cooks starter motor and ruin batteries, order replacement which doesn't work.....

Both years: Miss really nice weather.

My old ( still working) SL Something or other electric windlass is for sale in the Boat Store, Oban..... Complete with gypsy, controls etc. Only thing missing is the circlip that locks the shaft in place.

I decided against any type of blown air heater due to the noise, repairs issues, power consumption and cost. Instead I got a friend to bring me back a Dickinson stove from Canada where they are as cheap as chips- here the thieving importer prices them in Eberspacher territory ( tried to discuss this...
