Tide times

I seem to remember someone here had a very handy table of the times of tides turning around at e.g. Cuan, Luing etc in relation to HW Oban times......but searching hasn't turned it up. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: These crowded waters

"Practicing" for the SIPR? is that gentlemanly conduct?? :D No, just a pure co-incidence that we happened to take a wee saunter round the Paps 2 weeks before the race...... :D Having said that, I'm delighted I won't be doing that run - what a horrible route! How the top runners manage to ...

These crowded waters

Didn't see a single soul between Craobh and Craighouse this weekend - understandable since we left in darkness both there and back - but more surprising was that all the time we were on the Paps, we counted only 6 yachts anywhere in sight. With such a stunning day and lovely winds, that seemed incre...

Re: Large oars

Thanks for the suggestions - think we'll try to get the Uni rowing club to help out, what with SWMBO still being a student. Alloy tubes over existing oars not really a go - we have those lovely new oars on the dinghy that are 2-part alloy tubes to begin with, I think they'd just fold under the extra...

Large oars

We're off to partake in the joys of the SIPR in a couple of weeks time, and still haven't managed to track down a decent set of oars for when the breeze deserts us (blind optimism perhaps after the gales of last year). Our normal source of oars has rather unhelpfully emigrated to Oz, so if anyone ha...

Re: Check-in time.

Unfortunately it's looking unlikely I will be able to come along this time. Although Ogun's in the water, and been out for her first sail of the year, we have a few issues to work on and that weekend is likely to be the first chance we get to do anything with them, and also the last to shakedown the...

Re: My first Where Is It?

Very close. Taken from on shore Shuna, at the very north end where the ruined castle is - that's Luing in the background with Mull in the far distance. Was a lovely, if slightly breezeless day.

Re-rigging from reference pictures

If, like a very clever chap, you take lots of pictures of just how your rig hangs together before lift out using one of those very useful cameraphone gadgets, take extra care to make copies of them at the first suitable opportunity. Otherwise when it comes to fitting out weekend, you'll realise the ...

Re: Hymer

You've lost the plot, haven't you? There is a world of difference between caravans & campervans or motorhomes. Indeed. I would rather scrape my eyeballs out with a rusty spoon than go caravanning - personal preference, not a dig at caravanning in general;. But one of my best ever holidays was a...

Re: Cuan Transit Poll

Well one of the never votes was from me - because I've never been through. Thinking back to last season and why this might be, I was only on a passage that might have made it an option on 2 occasions. Once I went south out of Craobh to meet a friend's boat coming from Ardfern so we could sail in com...

Ogun should be there, 3 spare berths, if the missing bottles of malt from last year can be found then we're virtually a floating distillery....

If you have the traffic, and the stats to back it up, it would seem odd that potential advertisers did not see value. What reasons did they give for not buying from you?
