Re: Garmin GPS128 - is it the internal battery? (Again!)

My GPS 12 did the same. It was the Internal battery that had one too many charges. DON'T try to solder in a new one. They explode when too hot. My kitchen ceiling will testify to that. I was very lucky to have turned away at the time it went off. You wouldn't believe the bang that can come from a sm...

We've moved on now Bill. Sadly it's just all cable ties. None of the old lacing skills and tools needed. Only thing we have to be sure of is no jaggy ends left.

Re: Rattly TP10

I had a tp 10 that lasted just over 2 years before it started making similar noises. It was the small drive belt that had stretched. I replaced it. Not a difficult job but it didn't last long after that. Bought a ray marine st2000 for the present boat. Much better bit of kit.

Re: Number 2

No bricks in the cistern. Have you seen how much rain we've had? Actually my new cistern has two buttons, big flush and wee flush.

Number 2

Not been an update on this page for a while so I'll give you one. When going for a number 2 Flush the heads before doing the deed. This ensures less sticking of matter to the sides. This top tip is not just for boats.

Re: Rattly TP10

. My only 2 seasons old TP10 has gone a bit noisy and rattly. Anyone know of a local fixer? WTF is a TP10? Can it be welded? Glued? Is the TP 10.1 much better? Is it less than 2 years old? I think there may be a 2 year guarantee with them. There was with Raymarine Tiller pilots. Even if not there i...

Re: What would you use

Can't find my matches...... Lovely boat, what is she and the length? I particularly like the curve on the handrails going round the stern, looks very secure and the step down to the deck. You may have to 'cut' the section where the letters have been to remove any residue that has stained the gel co...

Re: Point of Order

Previous boat Booby Trapper came with the name, it was a Trapper 300. A booby is a burd (kind of ugly in cute way) but it's not what usually springs to mind when folks see the name. Haven't spoken to Barry the previous owner of Shearwater since I bought her and that was 7 years ago. How time flies! ...

Re: Isle of Man TT Race

many thanks for the info do they put up the marina prices like everything else for TT week cheers R No just the same. The prices seemed very expensive to me when I arrived but when I went to check out and pay I thought he'd made a mistake so I questioned it and I think he said they only charge for ...

Re: Isle of Man TT Race

Yes did it last year. Stayed in Peel Marina for a few days. Stopped at Port Patrick on the way down and way back. If i remember correctly its 42 miles from Portpatrick. Leave there at low water but not too low water as it gets a bit shallow in the entrance (don't ask how I know ). I woukd leave 1 ho...
